I worked at Leicester Rediffusion from 1968 - 1976, firstly as a trainee TV Engineer, and latterly Field Service Supervisor.
I do not have much in the way of memorabilia from those days as I dumped everything when we moved to Aussie. but on my recent visit to the UK, I found the following Job offer letter while sorting through some old boxes.
A couple of interesting observations:
Malabar Road was originally Dysart Street as David Sneath had recently suggested and the telephone number was 57621 at that time.
£13. 14s. 0d. per week, was that really slave labour ? ( Remember, a gallon of petrol was 6s 9d ( 34p )
Remember that signature ( M H Chilton ) ? It's still etched on my memory, he even had a 'Rubber Stamp' to save time signing all those important documents like my pay rise !
Just look at that envelope. The awful typing ! They even spelt my name wrong !!!!!

I found these 35 year old faded pictures of my car and van. The car, I think is parked outside the Portland Heights hotel on Portland Dorset. As for the van ? goodness knows where I was, can't remember there being any customers in that field !
