Rediffusion Hull Reunion 2015
Rediffusion Hull held its annual reunion at The Goodfellowship Inn, Cottingham Road, Hull on Friday 4th December 2015.
There was a good turnout and due to added advertising a few more people attended than in 2014.
The un-seasonal warm temperatures helped as well. A few years ago the reunion was cancelled due to heavy snow! Unfortunately a few ‘regulars’ could not attend this year.
The general topic of conversation was trying to ascertain when the business finally closed its doors. Whilst most of the attendees said it was 30 years, and for most people it was 30 years, the final key to lock the doors did not take place until one year later – therefore 29 years this year.
Terry Prodger had the honour of locking the doors for the final time. Therefore in November 2016 will be the 30th anniversary since Rediffusion Hull closed its doors for the very last time.
The next reunion will take place on the first Friday in December – the 2nd. At the moment the venue is expected to the same as 2015 but check nearer the date. Hopefully we will be able to get some publicity in the local press and on the local radio to promote this and try to get others to attend.
