Rediffusion Hull - Staff Reunion 2010
A look back at the 2010 Reunion.
The Rediffusion Hull annual reunion took place at the Goodfellowship Inn, Cottingham Road, Hull on Friday 3rd December 2010. Ken Allott had contacted the Hull Daily Mail and Radio Humberside and they both gave excellent presentations to advertise the event. As a result Ken received quite a lot of feedback from former employees.
After all the hard work it was a shame that the reunion was attended by so few people. It was not that people did not want to attend but they were all hampered by the deep snow that had engulfed Hull and surrounding areas in the days prior and on 3rd December. Former employees and guests had planned to travel from St Neots, South Lincolnshire, Beverley, Leicestershire and from all areas of Hull but the snow was so bad that only a few people attended. It was a credit to those that did turn up and they had a very enjoyable evening.
Ken Allott and Ron Canvess had created some display boards of old photographs and articles and these were constantly referred to during the evening.
So despite the problem with the weather Ken managed to record information of names, addresses and telephone numbers so that they could all be contacted and invited to next years reunion on Friday 2nd December 2011, again at the Goodfellowship Inn, Cottingham Road, Hull.
