1971: Established in NSW by Rediffusion PLC, a subsidiary of British Electric Traction and
Amalgamated Wireless Australasia as a jointly owned company to develop the cable
TV in Australia. Managed by Robert (Bob) McCallum.
Due to government legislation, the only markets available at that time were closed circuit
systems i.e. Airport displays, Brisbane Parliament, Sydney Opera House and hospital
entertainment systems. CCTV surveillance systems became a critical sales objective.
Circa 1971 Reditune established as joint company with Aldridge.
December 1972. Melbourne Office established, Managed by Michael Andrews Concentrating on private
cable systems and CCTV.
Circa 1974 Redihire TV rental company established at Roseville NSW managed by John Poules.
Circa 1975 Redihire established in Melbourne managed by John Mulholland with finance manager
Ken Gay.
October 1977 Michael Andrews transferred to Roseville NSW appointed as National Marketing Manager.
Circa 1978 Brisbane office established managed by Graeme Ehler
1977 John Poules returned to the UK replaced by Howard Paul as general manager of Redihire.
Circa 1981 Redihire sold to Radio Rentals. Bob McCallum transferred to AWA Defence Department.
Howard Paul appointed general manager AWA Rediffusion.
July 1983 Howard Paul resigned as General Manager AWA Rediffusion returning to Rediffusion PLC.
Michael Andrews appointed General Manager AWA Rediffusion.
Circa 1983 Peter Rolston appointed National Marketing Manager.
July 1986 Michael Andrews resigned taking a position as Video Systems Divisional Manager at GEC Australia Ltd.
